Centre[4] Art + Research

Centre[4] Art + Research was an initiative developed in partnership between Centre[4]Arts and the Community Research Platform (CRP) at McMaster University. Together, a space was created for artists and researchers to engage in community-rooted collaborations that shaped and shared knowledge through creative and academic inquiry.

By placing artist voices and practices at the centre of the research process, the project explored how creative engagement could shift how research is done, who it is for, and how it is expressed out in the world.

Direct [Message]: Access to Engagement of the Arts was a three-year, multi-phase digital strategy research project that explored and developed new digital models to improve and transform the aging community's access to and engagement with the arts.

The project included developing a digital prototype adaptable to support the inclusion of older community members living with disabilities, such as loss of memory, hearing, sight, and mobility.
