Youth Arts
Film Festival

The culminating event of the Media Arts [4] Youth Open Studio Sessions.

Open Studio Sessions

Centre[4]Arts’ ongoing goal is to work with youth who face barriers and challenges and who show interest in the arts.

Media Arts [4] Youth hosted the Open Studio Sessions at Centre[4]Arts’ Media Arts Studio, providing participants access to specialized equipment, tech support, and mentorship with an established artist. Youth were also able to make use of access to computers, editing software, and film production equipment, including cameras, lights and a green screen.

The Youth Arts Film Festival was the culminating event of the Media Arts [4] Youth community arts project, funded by the Edith H. Turner Fund and the Hamilton Community Foundation.

Youth-Directed, Youth-Led

The Youth Arts Film Festival promoted three of the Edith H. Turner Foundation’s priorities: youth enrichment, education, and employment opportunities. The festival also promoted social development, engaging and connecting youth and their families across Hamilton. The entire festival was youth-directed and led.

Thank you to all participants who submitted their short films – without the talented youth filmmakers of Hamilton, this festival wouldn’t have been possible!
