Direct [Message]: Barton Street Cultural History was a community arts project geared towards Seniors 55+ to help preserve personal memories and the cultural history of Hamilton’s beloved Barton Street.
Organized by Centre[3] and The Barton BIA, Hamiltonians were recruited to share their stories. This short film is the culmination of a 12-week intergenerational community outreach project for seniors and youth using storytelling and spoken word workshops, as well as personal one-on-one interviews, to collect and share personal stories about Hamilton’s notorious Barton Street.
