Dis[re]placement

Dis[re]placement was a public art exhibition presented by Centre[3] in Hamilton, Ontario. Curated by Sonali Menezes, the project transformed urban spaces into platforms for critical dialogue on themes of gentrification, housing insecurity, and community resilience.

The exhibition featured a series of site-specific installations and interventions throughout the city, engaging artists and audiences in conversations about the socio-economic forces reshaping Hamilton’s neighborhoods.

By situating art in public spaces, Dis[re]placement aimed to make these issues visible and accessible, fostering community engagement and reflection. Through this initiative, Centre[3] continues its commitment to integrating artistic practice with social activism, using art as a tool to address pressing urban challenges and to amplify marginalized voices within our community.
