In Bond, Fatima Garzan uses a hands-on-approach with everyday objects and materials. This way of experimenting with different materials to “making art” involves trying and failing, which shapes the basis of accidental new forms and ideas. She uses stitching materials, which represents human connection and relationships and what happens as they move on in different known and unknown directions. This process is an experience of the uncertainty of migration, time, distance, memory and absence, which shape our identity in an increasingly globalized world.
