Maintenant et Après – Plastics are currently taking over our oceans, and overflowing landfills. It is alarming, and this anxiety has propelled me to create a series of five lithographs that reflect on the current global crisis of accumulated waste, and how it affects us currently, and colours our future. I believe we can transform waste into something reusable and beautiful, and to continue life mindfully by cutting back on plastic production.
Helena Rakic is an artist and printmaker living in Toronto, Canada. She studied at Laval University specializing in lithography. Helena is currently a student at the Academy of Realist Art studying both drawing and painting in the traditional methods and is continuing her practice in printmaking at Open Studio.
